Santorini is the most popular destination in Greece for cruises. Each year about 900,000 visitors arrive in Santorini to admire the landscape of the unique beauty. Cruise ships anchor in the heart of the caldera and served by the port of Athinios and the bay of Fira.
Marina Vlychada provides alongside berthing in secure conditions with water, electricity, WCs and WiFi network included in the (June 2009) mooring fee of 20. The harbour is the only well protected harbour or anchorage on the island. The harbour tends to silt during the winter storms and dredging operations are virtually constant to keep the depths in the harbour at around 2.5 to 3.0 meters. The marina of Vlichada is the only port where you can safely moor the yacht during storms or leave the yacht unattended.
